Disclaimer
Doorway is a **free matching service** for immigrants and non-native-English speakers in the United States. We help you find and compare language programs, but **you choose** whether to contact a school or enroll.
Doorway is not a school
Doorway does not teach classes, issue certificates, test your English, or grant any diploma, credit, or credential. We are not a college, ESL center, adult school, or accredited education provider.
Our job is to help you find options that may fit your goals, such as ESL classes or online classes. Then you can compare programs and decide what is right for you.
If you ask to be matched, we may share your goal and contact details with participating schools or programs so they can contact you. Matching is free to you. Participating schools pay Doorway a flat fee to receive leads.
We do not promise results
Learning English takes time. Results are different for every student.
We do not promise:
- fluency by a certain date
- a passing score on TOEFL, IELTS, or any other test
- success in a job interview or college application
- citizenship, a visa, a green card, or any immigration result
Any prices, schedules, and course lengths on this site are typical examples only. They are not quotes, bids, or guarantees. Costs vary by school, city, program length, and format. Many adult ESL programs at libraries, community colleges, adult schools, and nonprofits are free or low cost. You can read more about common ranges on our costs guide and look for free ESL classes.
We do not give immigration or legal advice
English classes and immigration law are not the same thing. Doorway does not give legal advice about visas, F-1 status, green cards, work authorization, naturalization eligibility, or any other immigration matter.
If you have a legal question, please talk to:
1. a licensed immigration attorney, or
2. an accredited representative from a recognized organization.
We may share general public information about class types or test-prep options, including citizenship test prep. But we do not advise whether you qualify for any benefit, what forms to file, or what legal strategy to use.
Please verify every school yourself
Before you enroll or pay any school, confirm the details directly with the school. This protects your time and money.
Please check:
- the school's accreditation or state licensing, if relevant
- total price, fees, books, and payment schedule
- class days, times, location, and online requirements
- placement testing or level system
- attendance rules and refund policy
A simple way to compare options is to ask the same questions to each program. Our guide on how to choose a language school can help you make a careful decision.
You are in control. We can help you explore programs and get matched, but the final choice is always yours.
Doorway helps you find language programs for free, but we are not a school and not a law office. Compare your options, ask schools your questions, and confirm accreditation, price, schedule, and refund rules directly with the school before you enroll or pay.
